Ready for a little nostalgia?
Check out this documentary I did many moons ago, on the 25th anniversary of William Davis's becoming the 18th Premier of Ontario.
Today, March 1, 2012, is the 41st anniversary of Davis's accession to Ontario's top political job. And at age 82, he's still a major going concern, back (50 years later) at the law firm his father started in Brampton back in 1916 --- Davis Webb LLP --- and occasionally venturing back into politics, as he did at the PC Convention in Niagara Falls a couple of weeks ago.
Still a sought-after speaker, Davis will be the headliner today at a special ceremony for the Ontario Heritage Trust. He'll talk about the man he succeeded --- Ontario's 17th premier, John P. Robarts --- at a ceremony unveiling a new plaque that will be erected at Robarts's gravesite in Toronto.
