Most of what you've read about Chris Spence lately focuses on his efforts to create a boys-only school in the Toronto District School Board, Or close down some of the many schools in Toronto that are only half full. Or lend his support to the province's attempts to create full day learning.
But before he was a rising star in the world of education, Spence was knocking heads as a running back with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League.
