Next Thursday: Safe to Eat

by Sandra Gionas Thursday October 9, 2008

Chocolate. Ham sandwiches. Tomatoes. Toothpaste. Toys. The list of recent product contaminations can go on and on. Why are we not safe and why aren’t there better checks and balances to protect us? Is this a hysterical assumption or is there something really rotten in quality control these days?

These are questions our Agenda viewers and online community have been asking of late and questions that have been flying at our recent story meetings.

We’ve heard your call, now hear ours: On Thursday, October 16th, we’ll present another installment of Your Agenda where you the viewer tell us what to produce and you get to ask the questions. So we would like to hear what’s on your mind when it comes to consumer safety. Is it impossible to ever be completely safe? Is there a serious problem with regulations or quality control? Are we asking too much of our regulators? What do you think is the issue?
