India is the world’s largest democracy, yet remains a society divided by class and home to some of the poorest people on earth. While China’s authoritarian system is in the process of opening but continues to face criticism on a myriad of human rights issues.

India and China are the two most populous nations on earth, both with booming economies lifting millions out of poverty. Both now act as global power players.
